Imperatorial – This club has a real monarch as member of foundation – Skiing Imperator Franz Klammer – who you can see here in free nature.

Alpine-Golf in the Nockberger – the championship course is a fine alternative in the heat of the summer.

Golfrevue 4&5/2006

Drive off and feel well is the new slogan as per now, with which GC Kaiserburg welcomes his guests and members. You don’t need any marketing measurements for this kind of course, because it has made its name over the years, being the second oldest course in Carinthia: Due to the altitude you are shielded from the hot summer heat, you permanently walk over juicy green fairways and the picturesque holes 10, 11, 12 and 18 are, like the shuttle transport from the 16th hole to the 17th tee well known. Remarkable: Although during summer (thermal baths, mountains) and winter time Bad Kleinkirchheim is a top touristic spot, the hustle is not that present. We golfers are happy about that: The value of relaxation whilst playing a round of golf at GC Kaiserburg is even higher then.

The course is spectacular but still always part of the landscape. One can congratulate Englishman Donald Harradine belatedly to this fantastic piece of design. But whoever loves his slice and his golf balls, starts to think twice. You need to be careful even before the first round. Don’t warm up too quickly, because Bad Kleinkirchheim lies on an altitude of 1100 metres, untrained golfers gasp already while changing their clothes. A round of real alpine golf with partly narrow fairways, steps in difficult terrain (hole 12), water hazards (hole 6, 9 and 14, uuuuaaahhhh), biotopes and interesting Greens. Whoever realises a lack of precision: This club owns a very nice 6-hole-training-course inclusive a driving range. (just a few driving minutes away)

After the game, we recommend a meal at the Tscherner-Wirt (you may talk about golf over there, the owners’ son is a golf-pro, Florian Prägant) or you visit former alpine ski star Wolfram Ortner, who developed to a lucullan original by distilling, rolling cigars, producing Whisky and roasting coffee. Another choice is to book a place in Karl-Bad, where in fire heated stones warm the bathwater traditionally.
